Training restarts on the 8th January

Please note it will now be £3 per session

Welcome to the Devonport Dragons Junior Hockey Club

After Christmas we will need to raise the weekly Sunday fee to £3 per session and all Friday night games will be £3 per game from the 11th November.

We are looking for more younger players in particular, and still have the offer of the first two sessions being free. To start playing you will need some trainers and shinpads and preferably a mouth guard and we can supply the the other equipment.

The Friday night league is now well underway.

Details and fixtures can be found on the Plymouth Hockey Development Website - these now include all games up to teh end of the season.

General information

The timings are the same for Sundays 10:00 until 11:30. The weekly training fee is £3.00

The club has enrolled in a club wide hockey insurance scheme - for details click here. To cover the costs of this scheme there will be one-off charge of £2.50 levied during the initial training payment.

Membership Forms

It is a club requirement that each member of the club has a completed membership form. The main purpose is to ensure we have up to date contact details in the event of an emergency. They also provide the team managers with the contact details to allow them to call up their teams.

We would appreciate you completing the form in advance, which can be downloaded here

City involvement

The Devonport Dragons and the two parent clubs actively promote hockey across the city, organising both the Plymouth Friday night Junior Hockey League and the Mixed Summer League along with additional Badger and are also active in schools. The maintenance of the Plymouth Hockey Development Group website has also been taken on by the club.

The Friday night league is managed through the Plymouth Hockey Development Group (www.phdg.org.uk) for details. Organising leagues is usually time consuming and last year was extra busy having to rearrange the games after two cancellations (Friday 13th! October when we had a storm and then it was frozen out a couple of weeks later)
